CITY PROPOSAL:

WHEREAS, the city council approved $230,000 as an operating subsidy to The Greater Downtown Council in resolution 22-0786R passed on October 10, 2022 that appropriated the estimated 2023 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.

 

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend agreement 23787, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with The Greater Downtown Council, for an increase of $10,000 and a new amount of $230,000 for the year 2023, payable from 258-030-5436-10; (tourism taxes, finance, tourism tax allocations, business improvement district).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an amendment to agreement 23787 with The Greater Downtown Council for an increase of tourism tax appropriations in 2023 of $10,000 in order to support the mission of The Greater Downtown Council. This amendment is funded by tourism tax collections, and may be reduced or terminated in the event that insufficient proceeds are derived from hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
