CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a joint powers agreement, substantially in the form attached hereto as Document A, with the state of Minnesota, department of public safety, bureau of criminal apprehension, providing for the continued access by the city of Duluth attorney’s office to Minnesota criminal justice data communications network systems and tools for a period of five years at an annual cost of $600.00 and a total amount not to exceed $3,000.00; payable from fund number 110-110-1104-5441.

                     FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to execute a court data services subscriber amendment, substantially the same as the attached Document B, from the state of Minnesota, department of public safety, bureau of criminal apprehension.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an agreement with the state of Minnesota, department of public safety, bureau of criminal apprehension, which allows the city attorney’s office continued access to the criminal history information and is controlled by the federal bureau of investigation national crime information center and administered through the department of public safety.  Access by the attorney’s office is in support of its prosecutorial function.  This agreement is a renewal of a prior agreement and has a term of five years.  The annual cost to the city for this access is $600.00.
