RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROVIDING STAFFING SERVICES AT THE DULUTH CAREERFORCE CENTER.

CITY PROPOSAL:
Resolved, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a joint powers agreement, substantially in the form of the attached Document A, with the state of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (“DEED”) providing staffing services at the Duluth CareerForce Center for a fee of $693.96 per week, funds to be deposited into fund no. 268-031-6251.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with DEED pursuant to which the city will provide staffing services at the CareerForce Center. DEED is responsible for providing reception and career lab personnel staffing under an Infrastructure Funding Agreement at the Duluth CareerForce location. Instead of providing personnel to meet its staffing obligations, DEED wishes to pay the city to provide those services. The city has the capacity and ability to provide the staffing services.
