CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to execute a professional service agreement with KLM Engineering, Inc., substantially in the form of attached Exhibit A, for remote operated vehicle evaluations of 14 reservoirs throughout the city for an amount not to exceed $50,500.00, payable from fund 510-500-1905-5535; UtilB-EPA (water; Public Works and Utilities; capital (incl deprec/debt svc);non-capital improvements; utility projects budgeted; EPA water systems projects).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the professional service agreement with KLM Engineering, Inc. for remote operated vehicle evaluations of 14 reservoirs throughout the city for an amount not to exceed $50,500.00.

 

KLM will perform evaluations on water storage tanks at the following locations: Arlington Reservoir 1 and 2, Endion Reservoir, Middle System Reservoir 1 and 2, Reservoir A, West Duluth Reservoir, West End (Six West) Reservoirs 1-6, and Woodland Reservoir 1-East.

 

KLM will provide evaluation reports for each tank, these reports will provide information on the current conditions of the reservoirs, recommended maintenance work, timeline and cost estimate for repairs.

 

These evaluations are being conducted to meet recommendations made by the Environment Protection Agency during an inspections completed in September 2023.
