RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH AND ACCEPT A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $49,376.08 FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, ACTING THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, TO PROVIDE WEEKLY REQUIRED RECEPTION AND CAREERLAB DUTIES FOR VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION FOR THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 1, 2024 - DECEMBER 31, 2024.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an amendment to a joint powers agreement substantially in the form of the attached for a total amount not to exceed $49,376.08 with the state of Minnesota, acting through its department of employment and economic development, to provide weekly required reception and careerlab duties for vocational rehabilitation on a fee for service basis for the period of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. Monies received shall be deposited into fund no. 268-031-6251-4324 (Workforce Development, Grants Division, Office Support, Miscellaneous Service).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize proper city officials to enter into an amended joint powers agreement with the Minnesota department of employment and economic development pursuant to which the city’ workforce development department will provide weekly required reception and careerlab duties for vocational rehabilitation on a fee for service basis in accordance with the infrastructure funding agreement for the period of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The amendment modifies the number of required hours, hourly pay rate, and dates of service. Total compensation for all work may not exceed $49,376.08. This request is budgeted through Workforce Development grant funds, and is operational in nature.
