1. Community Updates and Emerging Issues
a. Current events and issues affecting Duluth’s Black community
b. Upcoming community events, initiatives, and opportunities
c. Updates from commissioners and community partners
d. Issues that may require attention or action from AHC
2. Juneteenth 2027 Community Planning Session
a. AHC will consider convening Black-led and BIPOC-led organizations during its September meeting
to begin planning for Juneteenth 2027.
Purpose: What should the planning session accomplish?
Timing: Should AHC hold the session during its September meeting or schedule a separate gathering?
Participation: Which organizations, event organizers, businesses, artists, and community leaders
should be invited?
3. AHC as a Community Resource
a. Identify ways to build awareness of AHC’s role and strengthen its connection with Duluth’s Black
community.
b. Discuss how community members can reach AHC with concerns, requests for support, or resource
needs.
c. Define issues AHC can address directly and when AHC should connect people with other
organizations/agencies. Resource database?
