Public Comment
The City of Duluth Planning staff gave a presentation on the 4th St. Revitalization project from Mesaba
to 6th Ave E. They shared the results from public input sessions and surveys. Issues with existing
crosswalks include pedestrian visibility problems, sightlines and lack of yielding. Census data shows
29% of residents in that area live in poverty and also a high number do not have a vehicle. They
showed proposed plans that include removing parking from one side of the street, adding trees, curb
bump outs to slow traffic, multi use sidewalks, and ADA accessibility upgrades.
Accessible Parking Update
Last month:
620 N. 56th Ave W. Was approved and installed.
Next Month:
5818 Elinor St
6209 Raleigh St. Mark will be looking into this one since the one and only stall would be on the opposite
side of the street.
The Parking Commission has tabled approval of the 4th St Project, more to come on that.
Committee Updates
Outreach: Human Rights Office sent out the new one page flyer.
Skywalks: Questions about the city's social media graphic saying the skywalk study is complete. The
commission was under the impression they would be brought in eventually to that project, would like
more information.
Crosswalks: No update.
