RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ADDITIONAL LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVES FOR 2026.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth supports the following regional initiatives:
(a) Funding for the Lake Superior Community Health Center to engage in pre-design and planning for the construction of the Spirit Valley Community Center;
(b) Funding for the Duluth Airport Authority’s control tower project, replacing a more than 70-year-old tower facility;
(c) Funding for Union Gospel Mission to construct a new building and move to new location;
(d) Funding to support efforts to remediate and cleanup PFAS at the Lake Superior Community College firefighter training facility;
(e) Funding to support the Minnesota Air National Guard's 148th Fighter Wing’s aircraft shelter project; and
(f) Funding for the Port Development Assistance Program.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The city of Duluth supports these regional legislative priorities for 2026 that enhance the quality of life for the citizens in Duluth and throughout Northeastern Minnesota.
