AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THE SUM TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION FOR THE SPECIAL PARKS FUND LEVY FOR THE YEAR 2026.

CITY PROPOSAL:
The city of Duluth does ordain:
Section 1. That the sum to be raised by taxation for the year 2026 for the special parks fund levy is hereby determined to be the sum of $2,600,000 which sum is levied against the taxable property of the city of Duluth and appropriated to the various accounts as set forth in the following section.
Section 2. That pursuant to Ordinance 10102, approved by voter referendum on November 8, 2011, pursuant to the authority contained in Laws of Minnesota, 1953, Chapter 560, Section 1, there will be levied for the parks fund the sum of $2,600,000.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect January 1, 2026.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This ordinance sets the property tax levy for the year 2026 for the parks fund levy. Ordinance 10102, approved by voter referendum on November 8, 2011, created a dedicated parks fund and special levy in the amount of $2.6 million per year to be utilized for parks and recreation purposes only.
