CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to purchase gas meter ERTs United Systems and Software, Inc. for the amount not to exceed $370,000.00, payable from the following fund 520-500-1940-2410-5227 (gas, Public Works and Utilities, customer services, service, utility system mtc supplies).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution approves the purchase of Itron gas meter ERTs from United Systems & Software, Inc. for the amount not to exceed $370,000.00. Itron gas and water meter ERTs are devices that fit behind the faceplate of a standard gas and water meter and record usage, encode information, and transmit it to a data collection device using radio frequency, allowing for remote meter readings.
As a cost saving measure, the City standardized using the Itron ERTs and these are already in use on 30,000+ deployed meters, allowing for a unified meter reading approach. This purchase is meant to replace existing ERTs with failing batteries, ensuring continued accurate meter readings.
United Systems & Software is the only authorized distributor of Itron ERTs in our region.
