CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an amendment to agreement L30862 with Zenith Trail Contracting LLC for additional trail work on the Mountain Bike Trail Construction project at Spirit Mountain Recreation Area, payable from 450-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1506 (Tourism & Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvements Other than Buildings, Half & Half Tax Projects, Nordic - Lower Spirit).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to agreement L30862 with Zenith Trail Contracting LLC for additional trail work on the Mountain Bike Trail Construction project at Spirit Mountain Recreation Area for an increase of $66,640.00 and a new total amount not to exceed $480,472.25.
The original project was to build a new downhill mountain bike trail at the Spirit Mountain Recreation Area paid for by a State of Minnesota Legacy Parks and Trails grant.
This additional scope added is due to hidden conditions encountered on the site and realignments due to wet conditions and site changes from the 2023 and 2024 major storm events.
