CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase a new T880 Vactor hydro excavator truck from MacQueen Equipment, Inc., in the amount of $596,635.48, payable from the following funds:
$208,822.42 510-500-1910-5580 (water, Public Works and Utilities, rolling stock, capital equipment)
$149,158.87 from 520-500-1910-5580 (gas, Public Works and Utilities, rolling stock, capital equipment)
$149,158.87 from 530-500-1910-5580 (sewer, Public Works and Utilities, rolling stock, capital equipment).
$89,495.32 from 535-500-1910-5580 (stormwater, Public Works and Utilities, rolling stock, capital equipment).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of a T880 Vactor hydro excavator truck from MacQueen Equipment, Inc in the amount of $596,635.48. Pricing for this vehicle is from Minnesota State Contract 276912, Release W-196(5).
This new Vactor hydro excavator truck will replace unit 2879, a 2015 Vactor hydro excavator truck. This Vactor will be used to safely dig to expose existing buried water, gas, sewer, and stormwater lines for repair and replacement. A 2014-2015 fleet study found that to minimize total City equipment costs for purchase and maintenance, this piece of equipment and all attachments should be replaced by the time it reaches 10 years in service.
