RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF DULUTH (HRA) FOR THE SERVICES AND FUNDING OF A PUBLICLY OWNED AND MANAGED HOUSING COMMUNITY BASED POLICE OFFICER FOR FIVE YEARS AND ACCEPTING A TOTAL OF $559,719 TO FUND SAID POSITION.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement for services, substantially the same as the attached Document A, with the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth (HRA), to accept a total of $559,719 to fund one officer position for and over a period of five years, said officer to work with HRA to improve social conditions which may otherwise foster drug use, criminal activities, public disruption and other abuses at Duluth HRA publicly owned and managed housing sites, said monies to be deposited into Fund number 215-200-2293-4262 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, HRA Community Based Officer, Housing & Redevelopment Authority).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to execute an agreement with the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth (HRA) for the services and funding for five years of a Publicly Owned and Managed Housing Community Based Police Officer assigned primarily to HRA sites.
