CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, with Pitney Bowes for a mail machine and services, for a total amount of $40,231.20, payable from fund 110-700-1403-5322 (general, Transfers and Other Functions, citywide communications, postage).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a five-year lease of a mail machine and services with Pitney Bowes for a total amount of $40,231.20, pricing for this lease is from the Minnesota State Contract 218074, release M-499(5) and Naspo Valuepoint contract CTR-058808.
The City currently leases a mail machine from Pitney Bowes that is in the Clerk’s office. Pitney Bowes requires the lease of a new machine every five years. We cannot keep the current machine and must lease a newer model because of technological changes; they will no longer provide maintenance services or replacement parts for older models.
