CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase one Freightliner tandem dump truck chassis from Boyer Trucks Superior for the amount of $151,348.62, payable from funds 250-015-2026-5580 CE250V2605 (capital equipment; Public Administration; fiscal year 2026; capital equipment street maintenance).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of one Freightliner tandem dump truck chassis from Boyer Trucks Superior for the amount of $151,348.62 per MN state contract T-647(5) contract number 242594. This purchase is budgeted for in 2026 Capital Equipment Plan.
The 2014-2015 Fleet Study found that, in order to minimize total City vehicle costs for purchase and maintenance, vehicles of this kind should be replaced before they reach 12 years old. This purchase will replace unit 3412 which was purchased in 2011 with maintenance accumulating 130% of the original purchase price. Unit 3412 will be sold at public auction.
