CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase two Freightliner single axle plow truck chassis from Boyer Trucks Superior for the amount of $262,251.79, payable from fund 250-015-2026-5580 CE250-V2605 (capital equipment; public administration; fiscal year 2026; capital equipment street maintenance).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of two Freightliner single axle plow truck chassis from Boyer Trucks Superior for the amount of $262,251.78 per MN state contract T-647(5) contract number 242594. This purchase is budgeted for in 2026 Capital Equipment Plan.
The 2014-2015 Fleet Study found that, in order to minimize total City vehicle costs for purchase and maintenance, vehicles of this kind should be replaced before they reach 10 years old. This purchase will replace units 3445 and 3446 which were purchased in 2014 with maintenance accumulating near 100% of the original purchase price. Both units will be sold at public auction.
