CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase cold mix asphalt from Monarch Paving Company to be used by Utility Operations for an estimated amount of $65,000.00 payable from the following funds.
$45,500.00 510-500-1945-5222 (water; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
$3,250.00 520-500-1945-5222 (gas; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
$9,750.00 530-500-1945-5222 (sewer; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
$6,500.00 535-500-1945-5222 (stormwater; Public Works and Utilities; utility operations; blacktop).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a purchase of cold mix asphalt from Monarch Paving Company to be used by Utility Operations for an estimated amount of $65,000.00.
Utility Operations often disturb road surfaces to do repairs, maintenance, and other utility needs. The cold mix asphalt will be used to repair the roads after the work is done.
The Purchasing division issued a request for quotes on January 13, 2026 and Monarch Paving was the only responsive bidder with a quoted price of $99.25 per ton.
