CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into a cooperative agreement with St. Louis County, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, to perform road maintenance striping in 2027 at various locations in the City of Duluth. The City’s cost is estimated to be $111,274, payable from 290-500-5535 (street system maintenance utility fund, Public Works and Utilities, non-capital improvements).
Statement of Purpose: This resolution authorizes a cooperative agreement with St. Louis County for the 2027 Townships and Cities Maintenance Striping Program. St. Louis County is bidding a large striping project, and the City is adding work into their bid package to achieve a savings of scale. St. Louis County will be responsible for project solicitation, contract administration, and vendor payments. The City of Duluth Street Maintenance Division will direct and oversee all work to be performed for the City. This agreement will also increase the capacity of Street Maintenance staff to perform other necessary maintenance projects for the City.
