RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $678,502 AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH ST. LOUIS COUNTY AND PROGRAM FOR AID TO VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE 2020 SAKI PROJECT: CITY OF DULUTH COLD CASE CAPACITY PROJECT.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant from the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, in the amount of $678,502, and to execute a grant agreement substantially the same as the attached Exhibit B.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a partner agreement, substantially the same as the attached Exhibit C, with St. Louis County and Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault, Inc. for prosecutor services to facilitate successful prosecution of sexual assault cases and provide project coordinator, SANE, and victim advocate services; revenue to be deposited in Fund # 215-200-2233-4209-02 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2020 SAKI Project - Cold Case, Direct Federal Grants Operating) and Expenses to be taken from Fund # 215-200-2233-5447 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2020 SAKI Project - Cold Case, Payment to Other Govt. Agencies), Fund # 215-200-2233-5331 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2020 SAKI Project - Cold Case, Travel/Training), and Fund # 215-200-2233-5700-10 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, 2020 SAKI Project - Cold Case, Interfund Transfers Out to General Fund).
