CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant from the state of Minnesota department of public safety, in the amount of $309,000.00, such funds to be used to employ an auto theft investigator salary and fringe benefits, and for related travel and training costs within the Duluth police department, and to execute a grant agreement, substantially the same as the attached Document A, funds to be deposited in fund number 215-200-2266-4220-02 (Duluth Police Grant Fund, Police Department, Minnesota Auto Theft Grant, State of MN Operating).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to accept a grant from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety in the amount of $309,000.00. This is a three-year grant to support the Auto Theft Prevention Project. The grant monies will be applied toward the salary of an auto theft investigator and travel/training expenses within the Duluth police department. The grant period is July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.
